Les quatre couronnements qui ont eu lieu au vingtième siècle furent énormes et extravagants. Remplies d'apparats festifs, ces cérémonies étaient de joyeuses célébrations de la musique britannique, employant des formations énormes. Des chorales de Londres et d'ailleurs ont été rassemblées pour fournir un choeur de plus de 400 voix. Un orchestre symphonique grandeur nature a été installé dans l'abbaye de Westminster, tandis que des groupes de trompettistes de fanfare ont présidé à la célébration. Dans l'acoustique imposante de la cathédrale d'Ely, Paul McCreesh et le Gabrieli donnent vie à l'histoire, aux cérémonies et à la liturgie de ces événements extraordinaires. Grâce à son talent créatif renommé, les recherches minutieuses de McCreesh fournissent le tremplin à son dernier projet de loisirs novateur. Le résultat est une joyeuse célébration de cinq siècles de musique chorale, jouée avec les mêmes tailles de formations que celles entendues lors des offices du couronnement.
