Ce coffret propose une sélection d'enregistrements provenant des archives du pianiste Joe Castro, une collection diversifiée présentant d'incroyables performances de légendes jamais entendues et compilées à ce jour, avec notamment les premiers enregistrements de Paul Bley. Castro, compagnon de la rentière Doris Duke, parvint à enregistrer dans ses studios privés de nombreuses jam sessions auxquelles participaient ses amis musiciens, nombre d'entre eux forts célèbres comme le batteur Philly Joe Jones ou le saxophoniste "Cannonball" Adderley. Outre deux albums de Castro édités chez Atlanta records, ce coffret propose des jam sessions inédites et un projet réalisé pour l'épéhémère label fondé par le pianiste et Doris Duke, Clover Records.
